    ...the whole point is that he abused his position of power in that industry to do the things he did - so taking his 'career' into account should result in a longer sentence shouldn't it? If I was the defence legal team, I think I would have kept my mouth shut about his services to the film industry.
    Also and maybe I misheard this weeks back, but I thought as well (and this isn't excusing Weinstein, just not quite understanding the logic of legal system) that the prosecution used 'other' witnesses who said that Weinstein had assaulted them. How does that work? You use a witness to show a method - ie Weinstein had a habit of doing this - in a case about whether he was guilty of doing it...Chicken and egg?

    I hope they lock that aforementioned odious slimeball up and throw away the key....
    His legal team seem to think he should only get 5 years. 
    How do they sleep at night?
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I understand he's up for an Oscar for his performance as a helpless old man with rapidly deteriorating health.  Probably took lessons from another high profile case a few years ago where a very rich defendant's dementia suddenly improved when they were released early.
