    Can anyone put a name to the Rose I posted earlier?........

    ...there are so many Austin roses that look like that one to be sure, and I would say it definitely is an Austin,  but I would put 'Gentle Hermione' up there as my first choice...

    I thought it might be Nahema from googling which also got me wondering about that rose thatvidbnotbrelly heard ofm I'm a bit reticent about buying older roses in case they're too challenging to grow

    ...the trouble with roses like those, is that they have too many petals... great looking in dry weather such as we've been having, but look at them after heavy rain and you might think again...

    Wise words! I find it really hard to anticipate which roses will withstand rain and have lasting blooms. The ancient mariner and tess have loads of petals but stand up so well to rain.
