@Mr. Vine Eye Lovely choices, theyve got some beauties in again.  Am I right in thinking you have a cottage garden look?  I chose similar, thats what Im aiming for!

    Potted roses worry;
Ive got a lot of bare root potted roses this year (waiting for some patio work to be done before I plant them in spring) and it got to -4 here - they are down against the side of the house where its more sheltered from the elements and I sometimes put plastic over them, should I be protecting them more?  They had been doing well so far and all have little red nubs or shoots on but the plastic got dislodged last night.  I have some heeled in roses (I hate doing that but pots havent arrived yet...) which are ontop of a soil bed with a whole bag of soil put on top to cover roots, tucked in and as of a few days ago bubble wrap and plastic etc over the top, hopefully they will be ok?  Some more arrived a few days ago and I soaked them but its still too frozen to even heel in!  Ive got the roots sitting in an empty bucket wrapped in damp kitchen roll in a cooler spot in the house for now until pots arrive / soil thaws enough I can cover them with soil outside.  Will that be ok?

Ive also updated this years rose list as I brought a few more (led astray by the pics on here!)
    - Ebb Tide
    - Lavender Ice
    - Open arms
    - Mocha Rosa (gifted from a friend)

I also added from a bargain pot luck selection of 6 from Gardening express (the other 3 were lovely too but similar to others I had so I swapped with a friend - lovely dad and Macmillan were especially nice).  I kept;-
    - Wiltshire
    - Rosy Cushion
    Prosperity
Heres my updated screengrab of the catalogue pics so I can remember what they all look like.

@JessicaS, fleece is better than plastic or bubblewrap over the tops of your roses, you don't want them to rot. It is okay to just wrap the pots though in bubblewrap/fleece, keeping it away from the shoots.
Your bare roots will be fine just under a thick layer of compost, you don't need to cover the shoots.
The ones wrapped in damp paper should also be fine  for a few days as long as they don't dry out. If it's longer than a day or two, I would resoak them in a bucket of water for a few hours, then rewrap.

Thank you!  I'll pop out and do that today then and wrap the pots instead - its still frozen now outside.  Ive just remembered I do have a bit of fleece too. Ive been uncovering in the day when its warmer but have covered when we have had REALLY heavy rain so they dont end up drowned.

@JessicaS, pleased to hear that, sounds as though you are doing all the right things in any event. Look forward to seeing all your lovely roses later in the yesr.

My Gabriel Oak cuttings are leafing out. I've got these inside in a pot with a plastic bag over the top. I wonder if they've actually rooted - I think it's probably too soon and they're just using energy from the canes.

Nice to see anyway, start the season off a bit earlier 😊

@ Mr. Vine Eye, have a look at Downderry nursery, they sell rosemary as well as lavender. They had Miss jessops upright in stock as well as some other unusual rosemary varieties.
