...oh isn't that despicable, I'm as upset about your Kew Gardens cuttings as I know you were proud of them... everything is up for grabs these days it seems..
..so very sorry... totally disheartening.. but don't give up...
So sorry @Mr. Vine Eye that is horrible 😔 Can’t understand how these people live with themselves. I still have several of my roses that need cutting back, would you like any of the prunings to start cuttings from? These would be Boscobel, The Ancient Mariner, Corvedale, Jude the Obscure, The Mayflower, Desdemona, and Fetzer Syrah Rose’. Also Royal Jubilee but I know you have that one. Happy to send you any.
We found it all on someone else's plot!! They'd just taken it all and set it up to use themselves. Even had the roses inside.
Its all been reported though. I left everything there and just secured everything else on our plot.
I did rescue the roses! I reacted more strongly to those being missing than the tunnel 😂
The bloody cheek. I spoke to other plot holders who all had just assumed that I'd taken it home or packed it in when they saw the tunnel gone. But actually they nabbed it, set it up on their plot, then waited a week or two and came back for the shelving and everything else.
I've got so much evidence to prove its ours though, hopefully they'll get evicted and we get everything back/compensated. They'd damaged the cover in the process!
@newbie77 & @Omori Thank you both so much thats super helpful! Im so torn, the spot I have picked out is on the edge of my shed-shade but if I keep it on the sunny side so hopefully Lady Emma would be happy there. I think I'll go for it then. I can always get Shalott as well later right? I was planning to put her with "Copper Lights" from styles (pic from their site below) and looks like they will go nicely
@Mr. Vine Eye Good grief that's appalling! The cheek and disrespect. I hope they get thrown off the allotment and charged.
@Mr. Vine Eye ..how awful. There I was thinking that allotments and plot-holders would basically be like a real life version of the helpful community-minded folk on this forum. Hopefully they get appropriately punished.
Urgh, I had thieves on both my allotment plots (I gave up), also fly tippers and it was other allotment holders too. Miserable beggars. Very disheartening @Mr. Vine Eye , I'd be furious if it was me.
I can only assume that they just decided that the plot was vacant because we hadn't been there for a few weeks, and so anything on it was up for grabs!
Which of course it wasn't and wouldn't be anyway even if we had ended our tenancy.
I have reported to the police @Fire. And the council, who say they will be having a meeting about it first thing tomorrow. Police said I'd done all the right things, sent photos and proof of purchases etc. to council.
I couldn't have taken the tunnel back right now anyway without damaging it, it's all trenched in etc.
I left everything as I reckoned it would just add more complications to getting it sorted out. Police agreed, although I could legally reclaim them, best to get it sorted out officially. So I don't end up damaging some of there stuff by accident.
Except the roses...not risking those!
@Omori - that's so lovely and kind of you to offer thank you 😊 I'm alright for roses though really. It was more for the fun process of growing them myself than actually having them, if you know what I mean!
It's really disheartened my wife though, come at completely the wrong time. She's feeling like not wanting to continue with it. But I think with a positive resolution from this it'll be ok.
We've put so much work into it I wouldn't want to stop because of this.
Still can't believe it.
And that they had a No Trespassing sign on their plot!!!!!

Oh I'm too tired to be mad about it @Victoria Sponge.
