    Wow, looks like you got my snow, @Marlorena! After all my frantic insulation of potted roses, neither the forecast snow, nor the -5degC made it beyond the Pyrenees, which is looking very white and pretty just now. Just cold and frosty in the mornings here, so far.

    ..thanks @Tack
    ..yeah, I'm in there somewhere.. I thought it might be over the whole country.. it's heavy enough to weigh all the branches down on most things.. I was just getting to like Salvia 'Amistad', as it was putting on a good show this late in the year, full of flowers...  but it's flattened right now..   is yours still flowering @Nollie  ?...

    My Amistad has gone over now @Marlorena, it was still flowering well the beginning of last week. I managed to get some cuttings to take a couple of months ago, so I have backups just in case.

    Must admit I’ve warmed to Amistad this year as well, it grew huge and is still going.

    I took delivery of a DA rose on Wednesday. It's been kept in my wooden shed in its bag and I was planning to plant it this weekend. Unhelpfully it's started to snow! Should I bring it in the house? I don't think it's freezing in the shed but I'm worried about hte roots.

    I would worry too Katsa but in a paper bag in a shed should be ok, then again a night in a cool room couldn't hurt.
    I got an email that my TCL despatched today, all there woohoo. How long has it taken from this point please, question for other recent TCL orderers? I had a quick look back in the thread for the answer but we've been very chatty and it is too difficult!

    @Tack - about 48 hours I think? It was quite quick, and made me very glad that I'd gone and sorted out the garden bed the weekend before!

    I've put the bag under the stairs which is dark and cool. It'd already been in the shed for the last two nights, but I started to fret. If the worst has happened, how do you tell if a bare root is dead?

    ..yes best of luck with your new interest in roses @KayJ
    ...do keep us up to date with progress..

    @Katsa
    ..you shouldn't keep that indoors really, it's the worst thing you can do, even in a cool room... it will be ok if left unopened in the bag, and in your shed for a few days.  If you anticipate it being longer than the weekend, then you will have to do one of two things... remove from bag and heel it in the ground outside in a temporary planting hole, or put in a cheap plastic pot big enough for the roots and covered in moist garden soil.. it should be muddy not dry..
