  • @Nollie think your princess alexandra of kent is trying to make you change your mind by presenting you with such a beautiful bloom!

Yes, that is a shame you're going to get rid of it, it's a beautiful colour.

My Gabriel Oak has got lots of blackspots. Anyway its Nov and its fine for me. I thought i would worry too much if roses get blackspots, but somehow i am not feeling much concerned.

Olivia Rose Austin, Desdemona and Julia Child are the healthiest in my garden.

Beautiful bouquet of roses @Marlorena. I'm sad to say my Parahebe has died on me, probably due to my neglect, I kept meaning to dig it up and plant in a better spot but never got round to it. I'll buy some more next year, I really liked it and as you say, it's a jolly good 'doer'.

    Beautiful roses @edhelka and @Marlorena

How is fragrance of Gentle Hermione? Which Austin does it resembles to?

I really shouldn't get any more roses but i am thinking may be just one more. I am thinking between Eglantyne and Gentle Hermione...

@newbie77 Strong, myrrh-based blend, not resembling anything else and one of the most controversial rose fragrancies.

@newbie77 I have both Eglantyne and Gentle Hermione. I’m not personally that keen on the scent of GH, it sort of takes you aback, but others love it. I do love everything else about it. It forms a larger, more robust shrub than Eglantyne. Eglantyne on the other hand has a very beautiful, delicate charm to it. I think it depends what size shrub you want, and if you like myrrh fragrances.
