@edhelka I heard some horses have a taste for roses.. as in eat them?
Your Silas Marner looks lovely! The foliage is absolutely pristine! How has it fared for you this year? How do you find it’s scent? (DA calls it strong)
By the way, the cat is always right..
@Mr. Vine Eye Yeah I missed the rainbow spinkles around it too 😉

I wouldn't be surprised but it won't get to them here. Unless it is a pegasus The brown one here, photo from early June

I like it. It is really healthy, some BS on lower leaves but nothing major (9/10). Average bloom life (6/10) and average rain resistance (6/10). Strong fragrance (9/10). Blooming and repeating ok (7/10). Vigorous. Weird growth habit so far (staying small and then throwing a huge cane), it probably wants to be a big arching shrub. Beautiful foliage with very good spring colours.
Looks like you’re enjoying some sunny weather @edhelka your garden looks great and a good number of rose blooms still. Sunny today here too, but extremely cold at night here in the mountains. As far as rose foliage goes, most of mine have virtually none left but two that are still fully clothed and BS-free are Stormy Weather and The Prince: Every time I post a photo of TP I think ‘must fill in that big chip in the pot’.
This Lady of Shalott was hiding at the base of a sorry looking shrub and RD Braithwaite, which has had nothing all summer, is producing some muddled blooms:

@edhelka That’s good to know.. for some reason I haven’t seen many pictures of Silas Marner this year. Looking at DA’s description of their two new releases this year both Silas Marner and the Country Parson got top marks for everything - suitable for pots, windy and exposed sites, great fragrance etc
I’m well tempted.. but I have genuinely run out of space, certainly after I’ve potted up my three new roses this year.
Lots of buds on my roses though not sure if those will open over time. I keep picking whatever opens. From top left clockwise Teasing Georgia, Thomas a Becket, Charles Darwin, Strawberry Hill.
I am now liking smell of strawberry hill. Its different but i like it.
@edhelka, good to know feedback of silas marner. I want to order Eustacia Vye but don't know what else to order with her. Any idea when new DA introduction are announced and when they get available to buy? Is 2021 their 60th?
@newbie77, lovely blooms too, TaB is gorgeous, I love rich, deep pinks. I have five nice buds on Rose de Rescht and keeping my fingers crossed they open - roses are such a tease at this time of year, will they, won’t they...

Difficult one @newbie77 . Both were planted earlier this year so a bit early for verdicts. SH was given a much better full sun spot. WOH is far more vigorous, bloomed early on and has some flowers most of the time, it has grown a lot. SH took ages to get going but has flowered sparsely but constantly for a couple of months, Scent wise I hope they will develop more but both are well fragranced. SH is much better in the rain and foliage is still healthy and totally clean. WOH has BS but in mitigation it is now in much more shade for most of the day. WOH blooms thrill me much more than the pretty SH ones.

Today I made a start on the garden shake up. Moved the two cistus, a camellia, deutzia and the erysimum to the allotment.
Did some weeding after this photo was taken. It's exciting having spaces again!
Spotted these blooms on Malvern Hills, very pretty shape and colour today. Such a strong colour it almost doesn't look like Malvern Hills at all!
