I'm so excited about all the roses I have on order but now I'm worried I've gone too orange/yellow and want some pinks! Was tempted by Emily Brontë (peach/apricot) and PAoK. But as I've so many roses coming, I really need to hold fire and see how much room I have left. It didn't happen I got the David Austin marketing through the door today 🤣

My replacement Lady Emma Hamilton is on the way! Hope this one does better - the few flowers I did get smelled lovely.

Fingers crossed I’ll get chance to clear some spaces at the allotment so I can start moving plants from the garden soon. Will be half term in another week anyway.

@Katsa - love Emily Bronte - but you need to be happy with her actually being mostly cream with a hint of apricot in the centre, as she fades quite quickly. The pink colour doesn’t last long at all. But the blooms are a lovely form and scent. I like the colour anyway.

It’s usual @Katsa, everything shutting down for Autumn. I’m still getting some roses but generally things don’t look great.

    Corvedale today:

Having fun with my soil (and starting to almost regret my rose purchases)

I know what you mean, @edhelka. I keep having ‘what have I done’ moments about the ridiculously large number I have on order and the subsequent excavations required! I am going to pot up a fair number and grow them on in the poly to spread the workload.

What a perfect Corvedale @Omori. Not just my plants, the odd blooms I am still getting are looking a bit exhausted. The poor lambs are trying, but can’t quite summon the energy for many petals.

    Corvedale is beautiful @Omori!

I'm looking at companion planting for my new roses. I'm thinking of sticking with salvia caradonna and nepeta walker low as they work with both pink and orange tones, I was also thinking of Roxanne geranium and maybe something that will retain colour during winter. I always seem to over plant though!

    It’s clearly a unicorn!
