Well that’s certainly a more honest assessment of those two from the man himself, Omori. If you choose either based on how they are now described, you would surely be a disgruntled customer. I wonder which bright spark in marketing thought that up 🙄 I wouldn’t be without either for the blooms and fragrance, but I’m not looking forward to getting GJ out of that pot!

Eglantyne looks so beautiful. How does it perform healthwise and does it repeat flower well?

Hi @newbie77 . Mine is only new, bought mid August so I don't really feel I can assess it yet. It does have BS but still retains many leaves. It has nearly always had a bloom or 2 but no more than that. I have it in a pot in a sunny, very sheltered spot.  @Omori has this rose and has posted pictures which got me interested in it, perhaps he will provide more info. It is even prettier than the pictures suggest though.

Yes definitely Nollie, I agree. Both create wonderful roses but each need to have their growth habit in mind, which the website doesn’t describe well at all.

@newbie77 Here is David Austin’s description, which I would agree with. It has a very good spring flush, and more sporadic after that. Disease resistance is moderate, and mine suffers from chlorosis but I have hard water/soil so not an issue for everyone. It is a bit twiggy in habit, but has upright growth. Overall not a robust rose but very delicate and beautiful. Size listed seems accurate.

PS I imagine everyone has received their fold out today from DA? With 15% code Emily. Making me want more roses now, well played DA...they really are masters of marketing...

Thanks Omori. Not only the rose, i am now interested in that book too.

Yes the code is tempting. I only need Eustasia Vye, as i ordered everything else last year. I think i will wait till March. Hopefully the new introductions will be available by then.
