@Katsa I am sorry that your question got a bit lost. Awakening is a sport of New Dawn (Peter Beales only introduced it in the UK but it is much older rose, discovered in 1935) it is higher petaled but in all other ways, it should be very similar or essentially the same as New Dawn. It does get some blackspot according to people who grow it.
@newbie77 It’s my first time growing them and I have probably gone a bit heavy handed.. these sweet peas have been in the pot for over a month by now.. I’m not sure if they are still transplantable? I have been feeding it daily with liquid fertiliser as I’m aware that they will otherwise compete with the rose.. and I’ve also been using double the amount of slow release fertiliser as any of my other roses too to make up for it..
I am training them to go away from the centre of the pot so they shouldn’t get entangled with the rose.. my idea is to get them to trail down the edge of the pot.. so they won’t be growing up but rather should be left to cascade..
Oooh finally I can join in!! My Olivia Rose Austins are in their second year in our garden. Been moved around a bit. They are the first roses in the garden to flower and I love them.
Thanks @edhelka. I'll keep looking. And looking at everyone's new buds. I doubt I'll get anything this year! Can anyone recommend kiss me Kate as a climber? I think it's a kordes rose? It appeals as we have the same name
Just popped out to have a look at Sir John Mills, a Peter Beales rose. Bought at Hampton Court a few years ago but it's taken this time to recover, it was so hot it hated the journey home and didn't plant it quick enough. Can't wait to see it bloom again as it really court my eye at the time in their display.
I didn't notice the aphids having supper until I re-looked at the photo.

Penelope (A Pemberton rose)
Zephrine Douhrin and white Margaret Merrill
Winchester Cathedral
Unknown new roses in pot, a blush white (hopefully!)
Silver Jubilee or Royal Jubilee (I've forgotten which)
Eglantyne
Isaphan (going mad over the rose arch, absolutely laden with buds).
All doing with except for newish Royal/Silver Jubilee, lots of blackspot already.
@Lizzie27 - just back space delete the space and save.
