I have a young Westerland, planted last bare root season. It already looks like it is going to be a super good doer and I'm really excited about it (not yet flowering but I'm sure its over 2' already). I planted as a shrub so hope it doesn't want to climb.
There are some older Westerlands on here I think so I look forward to seeing them also.
Editing to say I also have Lark Ascending but new and not yet flowering, a lighter orange and I know everyone has it but I also have Lady Emma Hamilton on my wish list as an orange for a pot. Tatton could go in a pot also I think...still musing
@Tack I certainly understand the dilemma! Given that I am an impatient neurotic , I think I should go for potted rather than bare roots, just so I can stop worrying that the thing is alive,. However, given the long delivery lead times, it is starting to get a bit near the cut-off, with limited availability. I will just have to wait...
I am also looking for orange roses and not entirely sure of my choices yet!
I want a tall, upright rose for the back of the border, which can get to anything from 1-3m. Westerland is an upright grower, I believe, with stiff, thorny canes so I did consider it, but chose Salita instead, similar habit but it’s more orange/red so maybe stand up to sun fade a bit better. I am also considering two French HT’s France Libre (Delbard) and Henryane de Chaponay (Orard) both with yellow centres.
Westerland would climb for me, but I hear it tends to stay shrub size in cooler climes.
I have Super Trouper on my list for an orange floribunda, but Tatton looks really nice too @Victoria Sponge"...
I already have Warm Welcome and would love it if there were a shrub version. Nobody seems to have been able to match it’s astonishingly vibrant colour since. And I do need vibrant! I wonder why...

@Nollie@Victoria Sponge@Pianoplayer I have Westerland on my list now too, I too would be interested to hear about mature ones. I can't see where I might get Salita from. I would love an orange that gets to about 2m without getting broad. Do those 2 fit that bill? If anyone can recommend any others please.
Hi @Tack, I have just checked on helpmefind and there is not a UK supplier listed for Salita. I will be getting mine, if I get it, from www.tuincentrumlottum.com in the Netherlands. They also ship to the UK and lots of folks here on the thread use them. Their prices for excellent quality bare root are really good value, but probably only worth it, postage-wise, if you are buying several from them. I suspect Westerland would be a better choice for you.

@Tack@Victoria Sponge@Nollie@Marlorena My internet researches also suggested that Westerland has an upright growth habit, and I think Marlorena's photo confirms that. I love the look of Warm Welcome, too. Pondering one or other of them around a pillar or obelisk...
@Victoria Sponge I sympathise with the clay soil, I need a mattock in the summer months to make any progress, a spade is almost useless. I need to wait for a couple of very rainy days to plant.
I planted one rose in August 2018 and it took probably until this year to get going, I almost removed it last autumn (Penelope shrub). It might have been the bad condition it arrived in, but I will now wait and buy bare rooted once June has passed.
I love orange roses and i had tatton on my list but couldnt find it anywhere last year in stock. I bought lady emma, lady of shallott, super trouper, summer song and westerland as my oranges. Lady emma and LoS arent much orange for me tbh. summer song is nice and super trouper is the only one i will call a proper orange. westerland isnt doing much yet. It wasnt planted at best place so i shuldnt complain. if i buy more roses, warm welcome and tatton would be my choice.
