And last but not least my favourite orange rose that I have no idea of its name sadly, it fades beautifully to peach, then pale pink before losing its petals...
@Alchemist thank you for your suggestion, I just went and had a google and I’m not sure. Buff beauty is a beautiful rose but seems more apricot in the photos than mine (it is a really pale yellow). It also mentions a beautiful fragrance in the description and very disappointingly mine just doesn’t has a detectable fragrance at all.
@FlyDragon I love blue for you, it looks stunning. Does it need a very sunny spot or could it cope with a bit of shade?

Hi Watsonia. Mine has sun for a good chunk of the day, but not all, and it is partially shaded by 2 standard roses planted either side. Its the first time I've grown it though so I'm no expert I'm afraid!
...you have a large garden @newbie77 … nice to see updates on progress like that... @Katsa .. more lovely roses.. they will look nice in your Derbyshire setting.. @FlyDragon ...Tuscany Superb always looks wonderful in photos.. I have not grown it..
...just to say about 'Blue For You'... I hope you don't mind the thorny nature of this rose... it's well endowed shall I say..
The thorns are definitely a point to consider. I did some dead heading in a knitted jumper the other day - bad idea, I don’t know what I was thinking. The idea of a blue rose is just very appealing and blue for you looked lovely in flydragons photo, would you have any other recommendations? Ideally I’m looking for a climber, but would also consider other forms.
Really enjoying the before and after photos of people's gardens!
My Aloha arrived today ! And it's so lovely and so fragrant, but a bit thornier than I had hoped. Cottage Memories have been brilliant and I will definitely order from them again in the future.
To make paying the postage worthwile, I also ordered Gruss an Aachen, Blush Noisette, Chando's Beauty and Sweet Honey. All roses are in great condition, can't wait for the weekend to plant them.
Roses have become a bit of an obsession! I've been studying the Peter Beale's rose catalogue, I can spend hours just flicking through its pages and then googling different roses. I suppose as far as obsessions go, roses is a pretty harmless one and I'm in good company here
Another question alert! I've been pondering at what point in the summer would planting a potted rose become less sensible than waiting to plant a bareroot November one? By this I mean in terms whether there is any advantage either way on how well it will do next year.
Relevant info I think is that my garden is bone dry, there has been practically no rain for well over 2 months, my waterbutts are long dry and the tapwater here is unspeakably hard. I am watering my new roses most days as a result but not seeing a lot of growth.
I love the thrill of receiving a rose delivery with buds about to burst but have noticed the plant doesn't necessarily produce any more flowers in the current season.
Edit: I've noticed for instance that my June 2019 planted Generous Gardener is way ahead of my July planted Claire Austin. Both were bought from DA and seemed the same size and are planted next to other other on the same trellis.
I have an Aloha too, @cats_and_dogs, and you’re right the fragrance is knockout. I’m just waiting to see if the clematis I planted with it will prove a good colour combo...!
