that's ok Jason... I've got 3 Desdemonas too …. good luck with KG...  I know you've been to DA gardens so you must have seen the hedge of KG bordering the car park?  they've updated that recently with a designer border incorporating perennials and other plants with the KG's...  it will look fabulous..

Thank you for the discount code @Marlorena.
I just ordered Amber Queen. Its bare root, and I know its a bit late but I couldn't resist!
It's going to replace a struggling lady emma hamilton that I bought from a private seller last year thinking they just didn't want it but it seems it was a cutting... So on its own roots.
It just seems dormant so far this year.

@Ffoxglove you can get Amber Queen for less than a fiver in a garden centre!

I know they’re closed at the moment but they have them potted throughout the season if you can wait. Just in case you didn’t know!

    Good evening,
im very excited today as I’ve had delivery of three chandos beauty And a simple peach rose. I am planning on planting the CB in a row for impact.
However I’m now looking for a climbing rose which can go on some trellis (yet to be bought) against the fence which will complement them.

Here is the little area in my garden which I’m currently working on thanks to the lockdown. We moved in To a fixer upper about 18 months ago and there are concrete bases galore but sadly no money to spend re landscaping the garden so for the next 10 years I am going to be trying to make it look glorious.

The wall doesn’t get full sun but it does get a nice bit of late evening sun, this photo was taken at lunch time to give you an idea. ideally the plant would do well in shade as there will be a bit of the wall which doesn’t get much sun at all. I’d love a scented rose if possible.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

     :'(

I've looked around, my local garden centres sell for 9.99 at the cheapest but its not a variety I've seen close to me. I know it's more pricey but I wanted it so....
Hopefully it will do well for me and then be worth the money.

    Any particular colour you're after?

I’m open to suggestions but it must complement the chandos beauty. I was thinking perhaps peach to pick up on the centre colour of the chandos. Id like it to be a stronger shade rather than really pale. I was wondering whether Bridge of Sighs would looks good, I’ve also seen a rose called sunrise which looks pretty. If anyone has a combination which works then I’d be open to suggestions.

Something to potentially think about is that if it keeps growing along the fence then it would eventually meet a budleia black knight (provided that does well).

I keep calling this little area my formal rose garden which has my husband rolling his eyes and laughing at me. But it’s getting me through these difficult times and date I say it giving me something to feel excited about!

I don't grow bridge of sighs,  but I do grow Alibaba which might suit. I fjnd it really pretty and fragrant, easy to train, healthy... And it's a pretty salmon-peach-pink that's quite unusual.

Alibaba does look very pretty indeed, I like it very much. Do you think it would work with Chandos beauty?

I have both and I think so... CHANDOS beauty is quite neutral..
    Heres some pics
