@Nollie @Victoria Sponge @Tack @Pianoplayer I'm also looking at orange roses, but wouldn't know where to put them as all my beds and borders are pinks/reds/whites and purples/blues. I'd worry that the orange would clash. Has anyone managed to sympathetically integrate highly scented orange roses into similar colour schemes?

@Katsa My garden is still a work in progress. As I can't bring myself to throw anything attractive out I am working towards a more coordinated look as and when things need replacing. So one border is getting hot colours ie red, orange, purple another is pinks: from palest to magenta and another is yellows and blues. A long way to go.

@Nollie I’m not sure this fits the bill or not for you but I have a HT called Alexander that is super vibrant orange, grows narrowly, and is tall so good for the back. Only a light scent but if it’s at the back doesn’t matter as much.

Beautiful collection @edhelka, I like the little spider you captured there.

That's a good approach @Tack. I'll take that on board for sure! I can see some plant moves happening in the dormant season as I start to plan and redevelop the garden. I'm in the process of ripping out an old hedge which has given me a huge amount of space, but it's under the shade of two cherry trees, so need to think carefully about that. I also need to invest in more planters to make use of a lovely open and sunny spot at the bottom of the garden. I can definitely grow two climbers down there ...

@Omori I’d be interested to see a photo of Alexander please. I’ve been thinking of getting it as it’s my sons name.

id be interested to know if anyone owns a rose called Isabelle and see a photo of it if possible.

ive found that looking at the online sellers photos of roses can sometimes be misleading of the colour or growth habit. I recently bought a rose which I expected to be mainly white with a pink tinge and it is definitely pink in the flesh. Lovely but not what I expected.
