Iceberg climber Tess with a bit of black spot. Will cut her back to sticks if it gets too bad and she'll bloom again in a few weeks Arthur Bell Mystery shrub rose seems tolerant of everything apart from rain on open buds Pink climber.
@B3 I'm sure that your pink climber is Compassion, the flower form and deep red new foliage look very familiar to me. Does it have a strong, beautiful old rose fragrance? I had a lovely one in my garden until it was badly damaged in a storm and it sadly had to be removed.
I’d count that a first @celcius_kkw! Lovely roses everyone - Olivia looks so perfect!
I have a little blackspot on most of my established roses already, but the worst offender, what leaves are left are rampant with it, is Wild Rover, closely followed by LD Braithwaite. Sigh, I really thought I had the perfect red for my garden but LDB is really ugly this year - the sparse blooms have decided to stay pink after last year’s heatwave, like race memory, plus its pretty much defoliated. It really has to go ☹️
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Omori@B3 Such lovely photos of your roses. The Olivia in that picture almost looks like Sceptr’d Isle.. but I suppose because it’s still unravelling.
@Nollie This year my Roald Dhal has been getting lots of black spots.. I tried to tolerate it but it started to infect the roses next to it.. I has to defoliate them in the end..now it looks a bit bald but hopefully the abundant flower buds will soon cover the gaps..
But I’ve spotted a couple more starting to show colour today: Kew Gardens and Rhapsody in Blue. Will have blooms this coming week with the warm night temps predicted. 🤞🏻
@Mr. Vine Eye me too! I have my yellow HT, Roald Dhal, Boscobel, Etoile de Hollande and my yellow patio rose (new one this year, meant to be fragrant) to look forward to this coming week with the extra warmth.
