@Omori Nice list. I am looking forward to seeing them next year.
@Mr. Vine Eye Would it be too stiff after it stops being red? I never train too young canes because they can snap very easily. But I am spoilt by 'The Albrighton Rambler' which is flexible enough to be trained at any stage. I prefer to do it partially when the cane goes from red to mostly green (late summer/early autumn) and then retrain/bend more in winter.

@edhelka - I wasn’t even trying to train it, just moved it very gently and it snapped! Not happened before with this one was just unlucky I think. Nevermind.

Malvern Hills very easy to train and retrain at any stage too like your Albrighton

@newbie77 - I’m being tough with myself and saying no. But I do only have a very small garden and I think I’d be best off to seeing how these ones develop. I don’t want to fill every single space and then not be able to fit in any other plants!

It’s great at the moment seeing all the bees and butterflies. Managed to make a wildlife friendly rose garden. I’ve just taken some rosemary and aster cuttings so I’ll hopefully have some more of those and I’m hoping to get another Munstead and Gabriel Oak in from my own cuttings. Then I’ve got this second Lady Emma Hamilton on the way!

I feel at the moment that I’ll get as much if not more pleasure from seeing how the current ones grow and develop as I would from ordering more.

But I need to be realistic about the space I’ve got available. If I put any more in now it means getting rid of something else and I don’t want to right now.

If I had more space than I’d definitely be ordering more!

Also technically I’ve got no budget for it anyway as I’ve spent all my garden money already

Well I won't be moving my new red canes on TGG then @Mr. Vine Eye , it never occurred to me they might be that fragile, thank you for telling us.

I have cancelled my order with TcL, 28 roses is plenty in this garden, 23 of them this year. I may ask for one or 2 more for my birthday, poss Rose de Rescht, PearlDrift or SdeSA but enough is enough.

@Mr. Vine Eye, really helpful. I need to read your post evrytime i start to think about buying more roses. I need to get many bulbs and perennials for my garden. My garden budget is all spent and now it is my clothes budget that i am going to spend 😂

@Omori, good list. I am not familiar with some of those so will Google those. I am so nosy 😂. I still need to know what everyone is buying!!!

@newbie77 I have the simple life and I'm not really that impressed with it. It's ok but has been flowering in dribs and drabs this year and the petals get blown off in the tiniest breeze! Astronomia looks beautiful.
I have bought a gorgeous The Poet's wife from David Austin and bought a lovely large pot and planted it in that. It is full of buds so hopefully I will get a lovely show before it winds down for winter :D

  • Sorry @Nollie it was @edhelka I should have tagged regarding that photo.  I was interested in what the rose to the left was.

Sometimes I type before putting my brain in gear  :/
