My new roses have arrived from DA (excited squeal!). One of them has some flower buds on it and smells lovely.
I need to prune them off though, don't I? I'll be planting them this weekend and will want the plants to grow roots rather than flowers at this time of the year so it's settled in before the worst of the weather. Still, they look like lovely plants and should improve the garden next year.
@poppyfield64 - agreed, Desdemona is a lovely white rose. She's flowered really well for me, especially considering how new she is. Scent does waft, can smell it whenever I go in or out of the front door.
Mine's been eaten to bits by caterpillars but that's my fault really!
@LisaJ73 It is great when you open the box and get a waft so that even before you see it you know the rose has flowers. They look like great choices. I fancy TLA but a bit big for me. Will enjoy seeing them develop.
Same here @Mr. Vine Eye. I have it by our front path and one cluster is now virtually nose level which is perfect for a quick smell on my way out and in. I'm definitely going to try some stem cuttings from it this autumn.

Mortimer Sackler as the sun went down.
Lovely scent, grapefruit like, as described on the website. Blooms last a fair while too.
