    What I enjoy in this thread is seeing how members' gardens develop. Many of us have small climbers, 2nd year and 1st year roses. It will be lovely to watch how these mature and cover the fences or their supports.
    I think I'll add two half-arches this autumn. I was considering buying them but Katsa inspired me for the "modified full-arch" way (and some of them are really easy to modify this way). I am also getting a new obelisk. Although I am still not decided on all roses for these new positions.
    @Marlorena Yes, there is no doubt now. It can be tricky rose to ID from flowers because they can vary quite a lot in the fullness, shape and colour, this can be seen on HMF - flat rosettes or almost globular, blush pink or apricot. It needs to be seen during a longer time to see the full character of that rose. It's not the best climber ever but it's an easy rose to grow and train (pliable canes, easy to fit where needed) and flowers early which is always a joy after winter.

    @peteS

    This German supplier has it listed, but not in stock, don’t know if that’s a permanent state or they only sell it bare root. I find it a useful site for rose reviews:

    Also listed in the catalogue of this French specialist nursery (I’m hoping to visit next Spring when I visit friends near there). English spoken, a Marlorena recommendation, probably a better bet:

    Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

    What you do with your roses @Mr. Vine Eye is your business  ;)  Your Lady of Shallot looks gorgeous too.  Does she hold up well in the rain?

    @Marlorena everyone says it's pink lol  it's more berry coloured in real life.

    @peteS I have my gold Flower Carpet in a 14" pot and it is growing well and as you say - very floriferous

    @micmarg...that's good news as that's the size of pot I had in mind.

    Would any harm be done to my Thomas A Becket if I was to dig it up now and place it in a pot. It's only been in the ground 2-3 months and is still very small, so I thought I would use the space for a clematis to enable that to get established before the colder months set in.
