What I enjoy in this thread is seeing how members' gardens develop. Many of us have small climbers, 2nd year and 1st year roses. It will be lovely to watch how these mature and cover the fences or their supports.
I think I'll add two half-arches this autumn. I was considering buying them but Katsa inspired me for the "modified full-arch" way (and some of them are really easy to modify this way). I am also getting a new obelisk. Although I am still not decided on all roses for these new positions.
@Marlorena Yes, there is no doubt now. It can be tricky rose to ID from flowers because they can vary quite a lot in the fullness, shape and colour, this can be seen on HMF - flat rosettes or almost globular, blush pink or apricot. It needs to be seen during a longer time to see the full character of that rose. It's not the best climber ever but it's an easy rose to grow and train (pliable canes, easy to fit where needed) and flowers early which is always a joy after winter.
This German supplier has it listed, but not in stock, don’t know if that’s a permanent state or they only sell it bare root. I find it a useful site for rose reviews:
Also listed in the catalogue of this French specialist nursery (I’m hoping to visit next Spring when I visit friends near there). English spoken, a Marlorena recommendation, probably a better bet:
Would any harm be done to my Thomas A Becket if I was to dig it up now and place it in a pot. It's only been in the ground 2-3 months and is still very small, so I thought I would use the space for a clematis to enable that to get established before the colder months set in.
@poppyfield64 Your Favori is lovely as is @Fire 's Barkarole. Dr Jamain is a worry, I do hope that isn't the best it can do.
@edhelka Your garden is lovely, I would love to see that regularly if I were your neighbour. I would probably look like I was spying on you though; driving or walking past very slowly.
I have spent too long studying @Nollie 's continental recommendations but I am determined no more potted roses for me this year but an ever growing wish list. It turns out I regularly drive right past the Lens GC, it is just off the Calais to Bruges motorway. This will be a definite stop (hope they have a loo) in future..but when!
I covet a single/semi double, white, fragrant container-friendly rose. I think I am down to White Wings, Pearl Drift, and Jacqueline Hummery. I think Jacqueline du Pre and Frau Karl Druschki are too big. Does anybody have any experience or opinions on these or other possible please?
Sandringham is doing gloriously and smells strong and sweetly of traditional rose perfume today, JC as alwaysWildberry has lovely magenta buds (forground)and the new this season flower border is so much nicer than the lawn merging into bramble-haven this was before. Roses are Teasing Georgia, Eye of the tiger, Rhapsody in Blue then Sandringham and JCI cannot convey how much I love Heidi Klum though, the scent really travels and is parma violet intense (Blush Noisette at back)

@Marlorena everyone says it's pink lol it's more berry coloured in real life.
@Fire you Barkarole is a stunning red but what a shame about Dr Jamain....that really doesn't look good. Fingers crossed for improvement in 2021.
Just starting a second flush is my B&Q Rosa Favori
