Has anyone got any idea what this rose might be. It has repeat flowering deep pink blooms about 10 cm across and suffers from dreadful blackspot. I'm not even sure if it's a climber, it was here when we bought the house and I cut it down to the ground thinking that would kill it but as it has survived I haven't the heart to try again.

..not from those pictures, no... when it blooms we might have more idea... it looks as though it's reaching for the light from that shady corner..

...I think we're in for a warmer weekend ahead, so we might be lucky and see a bloom or two..

Roses have picked up over the weekend.

Queen of Sweden. A little too upright for me. But a healthy rose

Olivia Austin.. Lovely foliage on what is a young plant

Claire Austin very vigorous but was very unhealthy last year's so removed quite a few canes in the winter

Churchill Rose.. Such a performer for me. Lovely foliage too. But quite prone to black spot later in the year

Ty marlorena. I'm hoping this is a better year for roses as last year was just too wet

    Olivia R. A., lovely foliage
And this is Eyes for you, pure green and relatively deeply serrated

It’s unaccountably thrilling to see all that lovely fresh rose foliage emerging. I now have two gorgeous deep purple buds on my new Diamond Eyes and was hoping for the first bloom, but the weather has turned cold and horrible so I guess I shall have to wait a while longer!
