Thank you @Omori , sounds promising. Your shed is a whole lot nicer than the average one. Love roses on a wall.  The heat is something, I hope we get the rain storm here, everything is very dry with only 2 days of rain in living memory (or at least 2 months!).

I can't think that I would be of any interest on Insta, so while I would love to see more garden pictures I'm far too faint-hearted to delve.

Thanks @Tack it’s an old brick coal shed. I’m the same re: Instagram, but tbh I just enjoy seeing people’s garden and/or rose photos, regardless of how slick it looks, and posting some of my own stuff as a blog for myself, and if anyone else finds it interesting that’s a plus. I would actually prefer to find more amateur home gardeners on there.
  • Lovely rose pictures, looks like Teasing Georgia is doing well in everyone elses gardens expect mine. I will have to dig mine up and see how it gets on in a pot as it's just looking awful in the border. No new growth and only a handful of sorry looking blooms. If it doesn't do well in a pot it's going to have to go. The pot stage is the last chance saloon for roses that don't perform well in the border. I've already got Boscobel moved from the border to a pot as I had enough of the droopy blooms. Golden showers is another one that's going to be potted and sent to the last chance saloon, just a really disappointing rose all around. I'm definitely getting more ruthless about which roses are keepers. I think it was Marlorena who said that life is too short for roses that don't bring joy (don't quote me on that!)  :)

My Etoile de Hollande has turned into a monster, it's totally outgrown it's obelisk (I don't think I did enough research about this rose, it's clearly not an obelisk rose). I don't have anywhere suitable that I could move it, it clearly needs a big wall in a sunny spot, which I don't have...so I may have to get rid of my EdH with a very heavy heart. Or I may have to keep pruning it a lot to keep it a manageable size, but if a rose wants to grow it seems wrong to stunt its growth. Such a shame as it is a lovely rose.

I placed an order with RV Roger today, looking forward to some more roses arriving soon B)!

@Hazyb always gives me a giggle when you show Sexy Rexy, a crazy name for a rose.

@Omori Hashtags help a lot. Some people follow hashtags (for example I follow oldgardenroses or whatever the hashtag is for ogrs/antiques) so it can bring new people to your page. I also use hashtags that are useful for people searching for a rose or a class of roses. I usually follow back people who are mostly about roses and/or gardening, I don't follow if there is too much of other stuff, I keep my Instagram for gardening only. I also don't follow people with many followers who don't follow many people back, because I am interested in conversations and 2-way relationship (with the exception of a couple of eye candy accounts).
