@Omori You have a really good collection of roses!
I enjoy rugosas on our walks around the countryside here. Many people have them, both as hedges and single specimens. They are also mass planted in some areas of Caernarfon. They are the obvious choice here with our coastal winds.
It's so blustery here today, I'm sitting inside watching showers of pink petals being blown off my Isaphan rose on it's arch - looks like confetti! It's in full bloom, absolutely covered with clusters of exquisite small pale pink blooms. Oh well, it will save me having to deadhead it up a ladder I suppose.
I had Blush Noisette,Leverkausen and Madame Alfred Carriere, all from Peter Beales on the North facing walls of our last house and they all did very well. I have Blush Noisette on a pergola here and it seems equally happy in more sun too. It flowers from June to December and barely looses its leaves. Smells nice too.
I've just been looking on the Lubera website, at their Henri Matisse shrub rose. The delivery times stated seem to be a lot shorter than other suppliers, but as I've never dealt with them before, I was wondering if anyone has and are able to offer any info regarding reliability, quality, etc.
@celcius_kkw Mine is in a somewhat exposed spot and it does take the full force of winds but not like what you experience. It is a tough one though so you could give it a shot? If it doesn’t handle it I’m not sure what would, while ticking boxes of fragrance, repeat flowering, etc.
I too did a double take, looking for the oddly-named rose ‘Lab holding Sock’, @Omori 😆 Fabulous selection of roses you have.
I love rugosas but sadly they don’t love me. I planted 5 Albas a couple of years ago for a hedge, which all died within the year, plus Hansa, which was really poor with a lot of cane dieback - that succumbed in the end too.
Munstead Wood has been fabulous for me this year (it’s third), by far my best performing and most fragrant Austin, plus it’s my favourite colour. I can easily forgive it’s ungainly habit and thorniness. First bloom of second flush:
Lady of Shallot also starting again, but it never gets to ‘full flush’ status, even the first is really only a half flush, the blooms last only a day or two, fragrance is light to none and it suffers from a lot of BS. Such a shame as I really love it, but it’s a doomed love affair:
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.

Thank you @edhelka! You have many I’d like to add, wouldn’t mind having triple the roses I currently have 😛
