Much respect to Dove and Punkdoc ❤️. My last ward "Hyper acute stroke unit", men in their 30s, overweight, hypertension, smoking, drugs. No interest in giving anything up. Don't take the hypertensive meds, because "they are asymptomatic"(obviously MY word) women 50s, diabetes, overweight,no self care, sedentary lifestyle, expect (demand even) us the NHS to provide a "cure". My colleagues laughed at me, not nastily, good natured banter. Called me Mrs Good life. Healthy living all round, growing fruit and veg, veggie, excercise routine. They used to comment how fast I walked, how strong I was,and no back trouble in my 60s, yet those half me age, were "older". I think thats why I am so shocked by this Covid. Yesterday I was 27, today I am 37! Definitely feel like I have aged 10 years!!
It might be a good risk level for you @mac12 but you have no right to inflict that risk on the unwilling and that's what you're doing by staying unvaccinated, not being careful and potentially either passing on the virus to someone more vulnerable to its complications or, as has been said, depriving them of scarce nhs resources to keep them alive and well.
That shows an amazing level of short-sightedness and an astonishing lack of care and respect for others.
Is your diabetes type 1 or type 2?

I've had all covid vaccines available to me. Have always been careful about wearing masks, hand sanitisers etc. But in July I caught covid.....from where I have no idea, apart from possibly public transport or the few shops I have to go to. I was quite ill with it and I dread to think how bad I would have been if I hadn't had all the vaccines.
Regarding the risks that's what I keep saying nobody has ever said whether 5 people or 50000 are dying each week purely from covid if it's only 5 out of 70 million that's a risk worth taking
If you want to find the figures, the gov publishes stats:
Thank you @punkdoc, for your invaluable input in this thread and @steveTu and others who have been kind enough to supply links to further our knowledge and understanding. I wonder if @mac12 has bothered to read them? I suspect not.
@mac12 What is the reason you are so against having any vaccines, it must be more then just wanting to know how many people have died of Covid. Although, however many, it's too many.

Please rethink @mac12

Just for the record, I'm fully vaccinated, having had seven so far. Had Covid once (mildy) in April 2022.
