@punkdoc .., i will be eternally grateful for the way you’ve shared your knowledge and understanding of many health issues, but particularly regarding COVID.
I’m sure that you helping many of us to understand the issues has contributed to the wellbeing of quite a few of us during the pandemic, and I hope that you will continue to share your understanding with us. 🙏
As for the issue raised about having COVID alongside another condition … as I understand it if you have a heart attack and COVID you’re going to be much weaker and less likely to recover from either/both if you have a heavy dose of COVID.
Whereas if you’ve had all the jabs and therefore have a lighter viral load if you contract COVID you’ll be less ill and therefore in a better position to recover from the heart attack.
Quite often death certificates carry more than one cause of death … something like ‘heart attack with COVID a contributory factor’ or something along those lines.
This thread has long been of great benefit to many of us … if some folk want to be their own experts and disseminate their own theories about medical science perhaps they should start another thread rather than spoil something helpful and useful.

Punkdoc I think until you can come up with actual figures rather than just saying covid is killing more people or more people are in hospital because of covid then your suggestion might be best. All I want to know is whether someone just has covid or something else
B3 if that's aimed at me then my answer would be if a doctor who is on a covid committee comes on here and says that more people are in hospital with covid then also say whether they are in just because they have covid same as saying covid is killing more people how many are dying purely from covid. I agree covid may cause someone seriously ill to die sooner but that is a different figure
You cannot possibly say that any death is only due to a single cause [ except possibly decapitation! ] People die with COVID and because of it, people die with heart disease and because of it.
An awful lot of people have died with it, some mainly because of it.
As I have already said today, the ICU docs. and nurses are probably the only people who have really seen how devastating this disease is, and they have every vaccination going.
Sorry but I think it is time I bowed out of this thread, the stupidity of some people is making me lose my temper and I think I can use my time better, there are people who who still believe COVID is a serious disease.
Please continue to stay and impart your knowledge & experience, @punkdoc. I greatly appreciate it. It is so difficult for a layperson to find much current factual information anymore.
It is helpful to hear of everyone's experiences too.
I often have spells of weakened health & feel the safety nets have been falling away. It is still a horrible time, with COVID on top of other health concerns.
I really hope the NHS not only survives but eventually thrives.
Sorry to witness the demise of the forum. 😥😥😥😡😡😡I am Spartacus

It may be a different figure … but that’s not what is important to most folk … what is important is to follow a course of action that is going to give them the best chance of being as well as possible for as long as possible.
A single figure taken out of context is of no help to the general public at all and can give a very misleading impression.

Personally, I would rather have the experience of someone like punkdoc to interpret and analyse the figures for me though - as all stats can be read in multiple ways.
@mac12 I think it would help us to better understand your point of view if you tell us whether you have been vaccinated against Covid. Apologies if you have told us already. It's a long thread!
B3 I've only had the first one as I believed the hype at the time, I've never worn a mask or changed my lifestyle such as going out I read posts on here and elsewhere how people are still frightened to leave their home and feel sorry for them and think when people read that covid is killing people without actual figures showing how low the amount of deaths purely from covid is it's just scaremongering
