As a family we are in total isolation, myself and my hubby have worked together as self employed gardeners for the last 31 years. Covid19 is very very easy to catch, we are speaking from experience. My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer just before lock down. We have been fortunate he has had all the necessary diagnostic scans and tests completed in the last 5 weeks. He had a Covid19 test 48 hours before his planned surgery, despite our very best efforts and following the gov. uk guidelines he tested positive. Surgery is now delayed, his test showed he is in the recovery stage of the virus. We have been very very lucky his fatigue and cough was put down to his lung tumour, we now know some of it is Covid19.
This is not a political post in anyway.

@lily6 😊 what a difficult situation you’re in ... I hope your hubby gets his op soon and that the result is really positive. Best of luck and positive wishes heading your way 🤞

Thank you Dovefromabove. We are lucky, it was diagnosed very early and is small and slow growing. He is another wise very fit non smoking, non drinking 54 year old, expected to fully recover. We hadn't expected Covid19 on top of a tumour, blessed to have Mother Nature and a beautiful garden on our side along with support from family and friends, albeit by phone and Internet for the time being!

Sorry to hear that and hope your husband is able to have his surgery soon and makes a full recovery.
In my experience it’s not that infectious I travel to work by bus every day and work in a pharmacy unable to maintain social distance from colleagues and customers and nobody at work has been unwell at all. We don’t use gloves or masks and surely some of the people I interact with have the virus? Maybe I am speaking too soon and I do understand that for vulnerable people this must be frightening but personally I really hope the lockdown eases soon and we can return to normality

Some people are immune to it, but i don't want to take any chances. Around here the pharmacy has taken precautions and put up barriers the customers have to wait outside and be called in 2 at a time.
As long as a person isn't coughing or sneezing it's not that bad.

The thing with testing is, you could be negative and catch it on the way out the door.

Sorry to hear of your troubles @lily6, I hope your OH will recover soon.

@debs64   Our pharmacy staff are now wearing PPE and only allowing one person in the shop at one time with roped off area before the counter. Perhaps you ought to think about it.
