Tried to wear a facemask when I went to have my hair done, problem was it made my glasses steam up as  my breath escaped from the top of the mask so I couldn't see a blasted thing.

Apparently, @Yviestevie, if you fold a paper tissue so it's around 4" x 1" and insert it in the mask over the bridge of your nose, it stops warm damp air from escaping upwards and fogging your specs.  Not tried it yet but the youtube video looked convincing...

I've got to go to the dentist later this week and they've instructed me to wear a 'face covering'. Nothing more specific than that. We've bought a pack of fabric ones from Elle that apparently covid proof but they're not tight fitting above the nose so they're about one step above better than nothing. I suspect it will become the norm to ask for them though whether you believe in their effectiveness or not.
I’m going to my dentist today to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Not looking forward to it. I’ve not been told to wear a face covering. I can only arrive 5 mins before my appointment, if they are not ready, I’m to wait outside and not in the waiting room. Upon entering I have to use the hand sanitiser and the same when I leave. They will take me straight through to the dentists room. Toilets are closed and no bags allowed. According to the website, after each appointment they have 30 mins before the next appointment to have a deep clean.

Good news - my friend who was admitted to hospital due to COVID has been discharged home. She is still very poorly and has been told she might be left with some long term health problems.

I have just read this on the NextDoor website. It is actually two posts merged into one. Even more horrifying is that the opening post about ‘fake plandemic [sic]’ has been liked by around 8 others.

Yes - I agree. They don't tell us about the growing evidence that up to 80% of people are naturally immune already due to residual immunity from exposure to other corona viruses, such as the common cold virus. Or that the actual risk to the remaining 20% is low with the large majority experiencing only mild symptoms. Nor do they tell us that we're past the peak and the virus is quickly petering out because it basically has nowhere else to go now since herd immunity for this virus is about 20% and we've already reached it.

But that would contradict the official narrative of "Be afraid and obey our instructions!" The whole thing is really nothing but an exercise in social control, and fear is the great motivator!

Plandemic' is a play on the word pandemic, and is made up of the words 'planned' and 'epidemic'. The implication is that the current 'crisis' is not really as it has been presented and is based on very dubious data and assumptions.

Neil Ferguson from Imperial College is the guy who first came up with some outrageous predictions using his very bad computer model for this 'new' coronavirus. He predicted 200,000 deaths in the UK and 2.2million in the USA. The UK, the USA and the WHO all decided to use his figures to justify the lockdown regime, despite the fact that he has an absolutely appalling record of falsely predicting dire outcomes from previous epidemics.

So, the question we should ask is why would these governments and 'health authorities' be so ready to accept the lunatic outpourings of someone with such a wildly inaccurate track record? What is really going on here? And who benefits? In reality it's a very murky business - but here's an important clue - Neil Ferguson and Imperial College have been funded with multi-millions of dollars by Bill Gates, who has a direct financial interest in vaccine development, and from the very start of this 'plandemic' he has been relentlessly pushing the message that 'We will never really get back to normal until everyone in the world has been vaccinated against CV-19."

Oh - and Bill Gates also directly funds the WHO, second only to the USA. Now there's a coincidence!

I know the argument about not giving oxygen to such views but I cannot believe gardeners  on this forum would be so willing to eat the fruit of the stupid tree.

I’ll come across as very defensive in posting this but I just wanted to point out that this NextDoor discussion comes from a neighbourhood about 70 miles away. I have no idea why the thread popped up in my inbox; for the most part Rutland folk know how many buttons make five.

Apart from the occasional aberration, I do find it excellent. There’s lots of sharing - recommendations, time, goodwill, spare items. Give it a go.

I find it useful for recommendations and see that it seems to work for lost keys, dog walking etc. but I use it ... I don’t let it use me. I only have the weekly update, I don’t have everything appearing in my inbox all the time.
