I am originally from Sarf Lunnon & its aaasis int it a. (As in the Barron Knights song "were from Catford int it a"). An a nuvver fing its warta you put in v barf. Mix that with the Glaswegian from my granny & I'm a hopeless case.  :D
Back to masks I have not worn one yet but I will if I have to go to the Doctors or other similar setting. My concern is that many who wear them seem to think it exempts them from anything else sensible like keeping their distance.

    Totally agree @Allotment Boy
Also no one wears them properly, people keep touching them, taking them off, then putting them back on, leaving their nose uncovered etc etc. Not using them properly, makes them far worse than not wearing them at all.

Our Tesco delivery man wore a mask today, first one I’ve seen but his hands were all over it,  OH said he was just wearing to protect me in case he coughed , he looked quite scary really, plain black mask looked like tee shirt material.
Wasn't big enough, it alternated from nose to mouth.

The masks round the chin!!! I've seen that loads. Why oh why do people even bother with masks if that is how they are going to wear them??? Or the other popular way is over the mouth but below the nose. Like... they half understand about wearing one, but haven't quite grasped the full instructions. I don't understand what is so complicated about how to wear one correctly - if someone has gone to the effort of bringing a mask out with them, and putting it on before going in the shop, then why on earth don't they know how to wear it???

I was following one elderly lady round a shop who had gone to the trouble of wearing disposable gloves and a mask, only for her to wear her mask round her chin all the way round the shop.

    I despair.

SM on the weekend: lady wearing disposable gloves...drove away with gloves still on - so any germs on the gloves are now on her car, keys, purse, etc. May as well just wash hands and alco gel between activities I think.

The mask at half-mast or being adjusted every 5 seconds business is getting on my wick too.

I’m having an antibody test tomorrow; will be very interested to know the result. My work colleagues so far have revealed a mixed picture of asymtomatic people with positive tests and people who were ‘ill’ over the last few months but tested negative. So far all the ones swabbed positive when they were symptomatic do have antibodies though.

I've got to go to the dentist later this week and they've instructed me to wear a 'face covering'. Nothing more specific than that. We've bought a pack of fabric ones from Elle that apparently covid proof but they're not tight fitting above the nose so they're about one step above better than nothing. I suspect it will become the norm to ask for them though whether you believe in their effectiveness or not.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Most people wear them to get on the bus then push them down until it’s time to get off then take them off. I dislike them as they do no good when worn incorrectly and encourage wearers to come a lot closer to other people. Useless! Just a way of pretending the government is actually doing something!
