Just had my tesco delivery, nothing missing and no substitutes, I always ask them how things are down there, (COVID wise) he said  everyone’s fine, no staff shortages or food shortages.   They’re not wearing masks masks now.

  • We have just been in Brent Cross,  quite a few non mask wearers,  but most are complying. The Apple store was shut,  Covid issues according to the chap who served us in JL.  I think there may be a lot more of this in the next few weeks.  The numbers round here are horrendous.
    AB Still learning

  • A chap I used to work for observed that 'I forgot' and 'I overslept' are actually genuine excuses and they're the ones you're least likely to be allowed to get away with
I rather think " I forgot " means that you weren't that desperate for medical treatment in the first place  ;)

My husband says that all the time. Dignity is not the word that springs to mind - ever. I sometimes don't even get the sorry bit.
The "sorry " bit is just an English habit - we are apparently well known for apologising at the drop of a hat - not always sincere of course but we just do it anyway.

I think the "sorry" bit is important - "I acknowledge I wasted a bit of your short life"

He's Irish but he's been here so long, he's probably gone native.

A fair amount of sickness/isolation absence at work. I suspect that will increase throughout the week/month.

I went berserk in work today as people had left unwashed cups in the sink. A poor show at any time but during a germ-fest!!?

My garden and I live in South Wales.
  • oo unwashed cups in sink! a crime at anytime.disgusting. but especially now

As a non tea drinker, I am revolted by stained cups and teaspoons used by imbibers
