OH has, for some years, had a moderately severe dust allergy so often wore facemasks in the car, on public transport and in places like cinemas. He used to be treated with the utmost suspicion, looking like a bank robber. Now, even when he's the only one wearing one, nobody looks twice. I wouldn't say he loves wearing it, but he feels less strange than he used to when he does

Have to admit the wearing of masks in public is economic too as well as socially responsible.  I only wear mascara on days when I go out now and, with the mask I need no foundation in winter, no blusher, no lipstick and I gave up eye shadow long ago.

People who have breathing difficulties cannot always keep out of situations where mask wearing is now compulsory. Many of them go to work or travel on public transport. Is anyone willing to pay them to stay at home? Some of us worked all through the pandemic and had to go on buses and have issues that make mask wearing impossible but as we have bills to pay we can’t afford the luxury of staying at home. I wear a badge and to be fair have had no unkind comments. It’s not as cut and dried as people think.

Agree! Suspect he is a troll, looking to stir. However, it’s given us a chance to express our views and concerns on the topic of mask wearing!
Ive certainly cut down on make up wearing. Just a bit of eye liner to combat the piggy eyes look, no foundation, and the cheery thought that I probably wouldn’t be recognised anyway!

Do you find that you communicate with your eyebrows a lot more when masked?

I was in the queue to order in the garden centre coffee shop. There was a little girl nearby in a high chair, possibly about 8 months old. I was wearing my mask, but when she looked across at me, I gave her a smile. I was impressed and delighted when she smiled back! Repeated it a few times when we made eye contact, with the same result each time. Her mum said she had worked out very quickly when she was being smiled at, despite the masks.
