  • One of the biggest issues with vaccination is,  whether we like it or not our immune response starts to wane from as early as our mid 30s. From an evolutionary point of view,  you are expected to have reproduced by then so your selfish genes start to run certain systems down as they are considered redundant.
A study reported by the Zoe group shows a significant number of people have no detectable antibodies post natural infection,  but those that do have antibodies at least 9 months afterwards.  The vaccine gives better protection initially but only seems to last about 6 months at present. This is going to be an ongoing fight for some time yet.

@Obelixx , I expect a polite request or invitation, like last time. I didn't like the bullying tone of it, and I would think it could put off some of the waverers.
Anyway, I'm boostered now, until next time. It was good to see a lot of young people  (teens) and a lot of people of ethnic minorities getting their vaccine. The chap in front of me had had his first dose in Scotland and they were struggling to find his records on the computer, even with his NHS number. He said he's working down here and not able to get back to get his second dose so he was hoping to get it in England. I hope they sorted it out for him.

  • OH has had his booster today … he had Moderna 😊

He's not the only one JennyJ. The records for my second jab were lost so the nurse invented a date for me so that I could get my booster a couple of weeks ago.

  • Yay!  My third jab shows up on my NHS App and I have a Covid Pass.  :D

Double yay! So does mine  :).  The booster wasn't on there when I checked earlier this week.

  • Mine too!
  • Travelling an hour or more to get the Covid booster doesn't seem out of the ordinary.  Mine is well overdue but have to do 40 miles to get one within almost 8 months.

I don't know why getting a Covid pass is regarded as such a big deal. I haven't bothered and won't be going anywhere that needs it.

We were lucky with getting our boosters, just happen to live within 2 miles of a big vaccination centre.

I doubt if I’ll use mine either @Lizzie27 … I hardly go anywhere … but it’s good to know that the system works for those who may need to use it. 😎
