If you look at the true number of cases [ not necessarily those you read ], France has had an over 200% rise in cases during the last 14 days. It is not always the total number that matters, but the change in that number.

    Oh dear that's very unkind.

At the start of COVID I donated all of my crochet cottons and buttons to a group who were making these for hospital staff and care workers to take the pressure off the ears.

I suspect they didn't realise where Réunion is. It probably just "sounds a bit French", cue kneejerk.

I didn't start it, Fly Dragon. I was merely explaining.🤷🏻‍♀️

And where would the cartoonists of the world be if making fun of somebody was not allowed any more.

No of course pansyface, that wasn't directed at you for explaining the comment, but at the kind of person who makes those comments and thinks they are amusing.

You are correct - I started it, because I think SJ looks like UF. I still do. I bet lots of other people here do as well. I bet half the people didn't need it explaining as they saw the same similarity I did. I wasn't the first to see it, I won't be the last.

Edited to add: Please don't then look at this ( https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/may-june-52s97fjfp ) @Flydragon, and I strongly, strongly suggest you never watch any satire - Spitting Image will mortify you.
