I think the effects of covid on younger people will be bad enough without them being ill. Job losses and many years of suffering financially will combine with the dreadful toll on their mental health from enforced lockdowns so hopefully they will suffer enough to make you feel better.
A lot of things about this situation sicken me but the unselfish sacrifices made by the younger generation have been a beacon of light. I have so much sympathy and respect for them.

My baby,29, shielded with my grandson last year, she didn't even go out to excercise, they had to make do with the trampoline in the garden. She did click and collect food shop,I did some for her. Mask, gloves, distance. I bubbled with her for child care, then she was furloughed. I even sat in her garden during lockdown while looking after the grandkids.she now has her 2 jabs booked, first one in 2 weeks, she has to go a 30 miles round trip for the second one. Hand gel is mostly antibacterial there are only a couple that are antiviral. Says in today's paper, masks prevent  big spread,(IF worn correctly!) Morrisons are now recycling the one use ones. Its common sense because that's why surgeons wear them

Does everyone have access to the vaccine in the uk that wants the vaccine?

Depends on location. In England everyone over 25 is currently eligible. Elsewhere e.g. Wales and bits of Scotland 18 yo + are eligible. There are discussions ongoing about the value of vaccinating under 18's.

I have heard more than one scientist/medic say there is a real risk of a 3rd wave,  if we open up too quickly before all adults are vaccinated.
I'm very confused by the references to a 3rd wave, as I thought we'd already had that Jan-March this year!

    1st wave - March - June/July 2020
    2nd wave - September - November/December 2020
    3rd wave - Jan - March/April 2021

At least that's how they've been referred to by the hospital I work at!  But then I live in Greater Manchester and work in Bolton, so there's never really been much reprieve since the start.

Maybe we need more or the younger generations (20's - 30's) to catch COVID and suffer ill effects. Maybe that way, more people will take the whole situation more seriously, that this shit is for REAL and it's not just the older and and people with existing underlying issues that can be affected.

Probably a very controversial take on the situation, but it sickens me to see how many people in that age bracket have behaved over the past year or so - as if there isn't a global pandemic and the selfish case of "I'm alright, Jack"

Last night I was shopping in Aldi and was annoyed to see the number of people not bothering with face masks, let alone cleaning trollies & hands on entry. I hasten to add that the majority were of the appearance of the less than desirable members of the public!

It's all good and well having repeated tannoy announcements asking everyone to respect the rules, but what's the point if the establishments aren't enforcing them? I'm sure that we've all seen this lack of action at supermarkets, shops, gyms, etc.
Well good news, the day the vaccine was opened to 25s and over was the single busiest day for bookings!

Looks like you might have misjudged the youngsters.

Those dates are the three lockdowns, not three waves (though the 2nd lockdown wasn't a lockdown by any definition other than 'what the government called it'). So the second wave was the autumn 2020 to spring 2021 one.

Tell that to the NHS in Greater Manchester!   :D

As if we hadn't had enough confusion they are also referring to the current surge of the Delta variant as a 4th wave.   ;)
