My second jab (Astra Zeneca) is a week today. I'm not worried. I'm more worried about a blood test booked for Wednesday as I don't give up my blood very easily and it takes several goes over quite a long period. I'm also slightly bothered that in a fit of civic duty mindness, I volunteered for the Biobank blood test for antibodies which should be arriving soon - whatever possessed me! Not sure if I've got any blood in my fingers.
The good news is, if you are ok with the first dose, the likelihood of problems with the the second are vanishingly rare, and the problem with the first is very rare, in the first place.
Thanks @Allotment Boy, I thought that would be the case. I had no reaction to the 1st dose apart from a very slightly sore arm. It will be interesting to find out from the Biobank test though if I now have any antibodies from the 1st jab or not.
Was talking about Tony Hancock, only last night, weirdly, thinking he did that thing with shop door ways, but remembered it was Harry Worth! Hubby has his second jab in a couple of weeks in an area we don't know very well,20 miles away, his first was local same place as mine, both our second jabs are the day before the 12 week deadline. He tried to change his, you have to cancel the one before you can re-book, I told him he would have to suck it up (actual words!) unfortunately his is also 4.45, rush hour on the A27/A23
Two main headlines in the news this morning. The South African strain that seems to have a greater resistance to the vaccines has had a small surge in London, and people in London have their first night out en-masse with lots of hugging and no social distancing. What could possibly go wrong?...
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Got my 2nd on Friday too, My 46 year old daughter has hers booked, I’m pleased about that as she’s a child minder and has key workers, nurses and a paramedics child to look after.

That article is about Pfizer & Moderna creating a similar response to the one that is being talked about re the AZ one, except the blood clots are not part of the issue, only the very low platelet count? So the decision to use those vaccines for the younger age group is not necessarily clinically much safer, just a PR concession?
