I listened to the press briefing about the latest AZ developments yesterday, I have to say Jonathan Van-Tam did a great job of communicating the issues in a reassuring way. I have a lot of confidence in what he says.

She did say it had to be in the left arm officially.

That is odd. The person who did mine said it didn't matter but it was better to get it in the arm you use more because apparently moving it around reduces soreness. I didn't have any side effects at all though so maybe I was just lucky. Usually the flu shot makes me feel ill for a day or so.

I have my invitation for the 2nd jab at my surgery.  Not too bad, only an 8 week gap, hopefully it will work.

I've still got a sore arm 3 weeks later! It's good to know others have it too.i feel like an old lady putting my best on this morning before I'm off gardening! I did ask to have it in my right arm as I'm left handed.refused at first then mentioned gardening and I gave her some advice so she said ok and did my right arm instead! She did say it had to be in the left arm officially. That's not fair if your left handed like me.so glad she did as it's not so much sore now it just hurts when I lift it
That's not true, there is no rule about which arm, why would there be?
  • I'm only saying what the nurse told me! I'm glad she didn't do it in my left arm.

The vaccine is given in your arm of choice, there are no instructions for it to be given in the Lt arm only.

I had a small DVT a couple of years ago and tests showed I have a low platelet count. Am I bovvered? Yes, slightly but will still be going for my second jab (Pfizer).
