It’s very busy out there today. Just popped out to Screwfix to pick up an order and Boots for a couple of bits. Thankfully, both quiet. Drove past Asda and Sainsbury’s, both had cars queuing!

Had my first jab on Tuesday and I couldn’t stop smiling when I was at the vaccination centre 😁. Oddly, not long after, I was very giggly and was struggling to get my words out . I’ve never had that kind of reaction to a vaccine before.

I’m 46 and didn’t expect to get vaccinated until at least May. Got a text on Monday and there were even slots for the same day. Over a month ago, I contacted my GP for a referral back to orthotics for new insoles. Yesterday, two days after my vaccine, I received a phone call from the orthotics department. Not sure if the two are related or just coincidence 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yesterday we were going to a GC,  but when we got there the car park was heaving. Given that this particular site is 80-90% covered in &  even though it's huge so lots of space inside,  we decided to give it a miss and go elsewhere.  I don't understand why other people who end up congregating en mass at various places seem incapable of making the same judgement.
Maybe the many who were at the GC got there early and gradually others arrived fairly quickly and then there is a crowd.
You start off being the only one there and suddenly you are not!
After all you went so others had the same idea and I expect many did get out as soon as they were able.

@madpenguin, I would love you to be right,  but sadly I doubt it.  I am thinking of the scenes we are seeing on TV of over crowded parks and other beauty spots etc.  Yes we went because we naively thought,  go before the bank holiday weekend, it will be quieter.  My point is when we saw the crowd we came away, why don't others do that.

Over 31 million 1st doses and almost 4 million had 2nd dose.

Visited my daughter and family yesterday, all had a negative test on Thursday night, and only in the garden.
She’s annoyed now because she looks after 6 children a week, nurses and paramedics children, she can’t have her 1st jab because she’s only 46,  the doctors receptionist, very young, sitting behind a full Perspex screen, no contact with people, had her ages ago!
They say to treat the 1st jab as if you’ve never had it,  taking as much care as before.
The roads into Cornwall were surprisingly quiet, we expected hoards of caravans and motor homes but none. Hopefully people are heeding the advise.
