Thanks @LG_ glad you're feeling better

OH had his vaccine yesterday but he didn't have a migraine before he had the jab. The headache from the vaccine triggered a migraine - it often works that way for him - he usually gets a migraine when he gets a cold. He took paracetamol when he just had the initial side effects but woke up in the night with one of the worst migraines he's had in a long while. Sumatriptan eventually seems to have got it under control again - he was able to get out of bed by lunchtime but he's still out of focus. I think that's the sumatriptan though - it usually does that. Not sure whether it's now gone - they usually last a couple of days once they start but he is feeling better this evening.

I've got my vaccine tomorrow but fortunately I'm not prone to migraines. Up to now, anyway.

Paracetamol is useless as a painkiller - aspirin is better. But it does bring your temperature under control when you get chills or a fever. It also knocks me out so you probably won't see me tomorrow - if I need paracetamol I'll be dead to the world for a few hours

@raisingirl. Oh well, we must believe him then..

yeah well, not really but he didn't hedge at all, he just said 'yes'. Suggests a bit more certainty than the usual replies that politicians give

Glad he's feeling a bit better. I also would not have been surprised if the vaccine headache had triggered a migraine - it often works that way for me too. But instead I went into it with one - ugh. I hope the worst is past for him too, and that you are OK tomorrow. Congratulations on having it anyway!

@raisingirl, interesting the effect paracetamol has on  my wife is the same.  She hardly ever takes any medication for anything,  but she finds it virtually knocks her out.

Can I just ask, is the second jab EXACTLY the same dose as the first? (Sorry if this has been covered in this very long thread)

I rarely take anything - aspirin or voltarol gel if my knees are really bad and that's about it. Ibuprofen gives me a headache if I take it as a tablet. Lemsip or the like for a cold though, which is how I know what paracetamol does to me. My Mum was the same, apparently. **shrugging emoji**

This is a problem with a lot of medications.  For safety reasons they are tested on men aged between 18-40 ish. Even later in phase 3 efficacy trials the patients they test on may not react the same way as you.  There is still talk of genome sequencing everyone and tailoring medicine to individuals,  they do this already for  certain conditions.

From my understanding, yes.  Exactly the same.
