My instinct is that it probably doesn't matter, but as with other things they have not tested it so can't say for sure. My understanding is they will give the same one as the first dose, but only because the alternative has not been trialled.

Not simple though,  they’ve been told not to make any appointments through April,  they’re testing now to see what mixes with what.

I can now categorically say that migraines and vaccine side effects are not a good combination. Still, I seem to be coming out the other side now.

@Lyn .. my understanding was that the rationale not to make appointments for under 50s through April was to ensure the higher priority groups got the second jab in the 10-12 week timeframe post the first ( i.e less to do directly with vaccine combination testing and more to do with focus shifting to large-scale delivery of 2nd dose) .

edit to add ... I see lots of more qualified people than me posted to this effect already on the curmudgeonscorner thread so I feel reassured that my interpretation is correct

I hope that's right - my parents are due their 2nd dose by (I think) 7th April to be within the 12 weeks.

@Lyn This is taken from Hansard on 18th March:

Kim Johnson, Labour MP for Liverpool said:
.... but can the Secretary of State assure the House today that, given the unpredictability of supply, all of those due their second dose will receive it within the specified 12-week time period?

    Matt Hancock said:
    Yes.

Admirably brief response there from Pink Tie but very clear, at least

Reading between the lines, I assume the reason for stopping 1st dose bookings is because now there's an overlap, every 1st dose increases the number of doses needed simultaneously, so they know they have enough to keep going with the planned 1st doses and with the programmed 2nd doses but they aren't sure they'll be able to keep increasing the daily rate.
They did 660,000 on Friday. Which is amazing.

I took a lot of pills and waited, tbh.
I had a migraine on Thursday, which eased (didn't disappear) with sumatriptan. Unfortunately before I had the vaccine yesterday morning I could feel it returning, and I've been seesawing between migraine symptoms and vaccine side effects since. They're quite distinct, though obviously I can't tell if the headache was made worse by the vaccine, though I don't particularly think so - it behaved as it usually does. However, dealing witb both at the same time was quite difficult. What seems to have made a difference today has been several hours in bed (shivering) then both paracetamol and sumatriptan. An hour later I felt able to get up and while I still feel tired I am human. I hope that's it now 🤞.

When did your OH have his vaccine?

ETA I don't normally bother with paracetamol as I find it completely ineffective, but it certainly seems to have helped in this instance.

@raisingirl. Oh well, we must believe him then..
its turning into a vaccine war now, getting very political, seems it’s all about the cost and what other countries are paying.
    I’m beginning to lose faith.
