    Well he hasn't earned my love!  People in charge should take charge not piddle about trying to please everyone and ending up pleasing no-one.

    I haven't posted recently or on this thread, a few family issues. These were being resolved until yesterday, youngest daughter lives in tier 2 but works and takes son to nursery in tier 4. Because I am in tier 4 we have had to re-arrange all grocery and Christmas dinner deliveries despite her being in a high risk area all week.

    Bonkers.  My brother and I are still keeping ourselves to ourselves and hoping the Oxford vaccine gets approved soon - oooh that looked like flying pig.........

    I don't believe this is alarmism.

    Figures from Wales in the last week, where COVID is now the commonest cause of death, accounting for 21% of all deaths.
    This looks alarmist but when you check death figures for Wales are actually overall below average at present.

    COVID-19 isn’t just about mortality figures ... it’s also about hospitals jam packed with people who need nursing care and exhausted hospital staff, but also about people no longer ‘ill’ but suffering long term effects leaving them unable to work or in need of care.

    I'm slightly surprised there aren't a lot more posts on the latest restrictions. Is everyone shell-shocked?

    The people that weren’t going to mix are happy they can’t do it,  the ones that were going to mix will probably do it anyway.

  • I don't think that's fair @Lyn! We were planning to visit our daughter and her family but now we'll stay home. According to a BBC survey 78% of people are changing their plans and only 11% plan to ignore the new rules.

    @LG_ I'm so sorry that

    You and many, many others in London and the South East will be directly affected. We have relatives and friends in those areas and I hate to think what they are feeling right now. My sister's partner is currently working in Chelsea today and says it's almost like a normal Sunday out there with hordes of people. Doesn't bode well. We've cancelled our Boxing Day trip to see grandchildren with reluctance but will still have our daughter with us hopefully - unless she's stopped by the police from coming back up. Who knows what will happen in another four days.
