remind her that over 70s with health conditions almost certainly will not be offered critical care if they become seriously unwell.
Wow 😱. Is that really how we stopped the NHS becoming overwhelmed last spring?  Call me naive, but I genuinely had no idea that this was the case.  How many of those poor souls would have recovered with critical care provision?
Every patient is assessed on an individual basis. Please be reassured by this. Generally, advance aged plus serious health conditions means you would not survive a critical illness, with or without ITU. More significant than age or disease alone is your ability, function and how ‘fit’ you are. This is what is taken in to consideration for anaesthetics, ventilation etc.

Trump with covid and a UK MP travelling to Westminster (and back to Scotland) with symptoms of the virus? Irrespective I hope that they both recover - and any one else they may have infected are ok. Their actions though beggar belief.

Just heard Trump's call to Fox - I cannot believe that he would even try to justify people having close contact - and to then try to score political points from it. The man is unbelievable.

If the idiots like this aren't made an example of, how can government expect the general populations around the world to take this seriously? Maybe the polls will sort Trump out anyway, but Boris should have done something about Cummings and now it's bitten him on the bum.

The MP said she “felt ok” so travelled. Talk about missing the point. Disgrace.

I think the frustration from my perspective is that it is these people who are making the rules that 'we' have to obey or else 'we' get fined.
Trump tried to justify mixing - the SNP lass tried to justify travelling - Corbyn tried to justify his actions. I hope the judges or whoever pass out the fines to covid rule breakers then listen to all the justifications.
The other (only two?) frustration was/is in the draining of the swamp -  populism - wasn't the whole point of both Trump and Cummings to rejig and reset the political ethos and to stop the political elite - but all I see is Animal Farm - the working class can kiss my a***, I've got the foreman's job at last (to the tune of the Internationale).

Swamps are thriving ecosystems who's survival is vital to the planet's health. Draining the swamps and making everything worse is Trump's MO all over.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I hope that he learns more from the experience than Cummings and Johnson have.

It did occur to me but Johnson was genuinely sick. Perhaps Turnip will be lucky enough to be asymptomatic and can continue his campaign from the safety of the white house.

If anyone is struggling wearing a mask I find the visors attached to a pair of glasses effect are more comfortable and also don’t mess up hair and make up. I wear one at work it’s a definite improvement.
  • But of course visors should be worn with a mask...it's pretty irresponsible how the visors (and far too many worn badly) are seen as a replacement. We have all to get used to wearing masks no matter if they're not the most comfortable face wear ever. What is really pissing me off is that anyone can pretend they are exempt and there's no way to check if they're just some anti-mask moron or a person with a true reason. And of course that's due to the mess of this government and its lack of seriousness and care for crucial details throughout this pandemic.

I’m glad you’ve found something that suits you, as long as it’s efficacious 👍 😊

However hair and makeup are of no consequence to me .... I’ve not had a professional haircut since the end of January and since no one but OH sees my full face any more a liberal lashing of mascara is more than adequate for me. 😷 😎
