The pub timing seems a bit odd to me - presumably Covid doesn't like to go for a swift half until after 11 pm :D
The reason is that after 10pm all the swift halfers have had a skinful and forget they are supposed to be staying apart.  Before 10, all nicely sitting at the tables,  eating meals on cleaned tables, after that it’s hands everywhere and no one cares a bug*er.

Just as a footnote to a previous post.. Up here in Scotland, chemists can only give the flu vaccine to the under 65s. Once you are over 65 there is an extra magic ingredient added to it and this can only be given by the flu jab folk in the health area.

Is the secret ingredient money? They probably have to give it to over 65s for free.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

The serious drinkers will just start drinking earlier!

Regarding flu jab for those in the UK and not in the free NHS flu jab category, Boots and other large pharmacies have stopped taking bookings.

We just walked into our local chemist the other day. 10 minute wait for flu jab and my husband was asked to come back in a few days for pneumonia jab as they'd just had a power cut and were getting a bit behind.

Had my flu jab today, something extra he said because of my immune deficiency.

The family and I are scheduled for our flu jabs tomorrow.  My nine year old hates it with passion.  It took myself (5'11” fairly fit) and the male nurse to hold him down.  My six year old just flinched and didn't fuss.  This year I am bringing my husband to hold him down. 🙄
