So our illustrious govt have finally caught up again, they are to start mass testing in some schools to identify virus hot spots. Only a week -10 days late again!
How old are they allotment boy? I signed up 3 months ago for the Queen Marys Hospital covid/vit D study, I get a questionaire every month to fill on, online, got an e-mail this week asking if I want an antibody test, which obviously has to be done before you get the vaccine.
I am sure most of you are aware of this, but a huge %age of the population say they are allergic to various medications, but the reality is they are not. In many cases what they experience is just the normal reaction expected with a particular drug. Most antibiotics give people diarrhoea, this is not an allergy. Genuine allergic reactions are of course potentially very serious.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
@Nanny Beach the youngest is 12, the twins are 17, parents mid 40's, not aware of the trial you mentioned. We report to the Zoe covid symptom tracker app. We have expressed interest in trials, but they haven't come back to us as yet. Yes @punkdoc and typical of her luck one twin has asthma and THE most severe form of peanut allergy (her consultants words not ours). The twins were premature and on heavy medication for the 1st year so their immune systems are not great, hence their mothers anger at the school as she has done so much to try to protect them all.
The swab test is the main one & is also the pcr test for the virus and is the most accurate. Some of the mass testing that is being rolled out are rapid lateral flow tests. A bit like pregnancy tests. They are not so sensitive. The ONS has been doing random swab tests across the country for some time to assess the overall infection rate. It is probably this survey you are taking part in.
OH got the same letter today and will take part. Seems a pity not to also test for antibodies at the same time as I am sure that would be of great interest to participants as well as helping track the herd immunity theory.

Youngest was obviously shedding virus before they knew, she was asymptomatic until 3 days after he positive test.
