Apologies if this has been posted earlier (so many pages !), but has anyone received a letter inviting them to take part in a testing research study ? Apparently a joint initiative between NHS, IPSOS Mori, DHSC and Imperial College London.
OH had one of these a few weeks back for an antibody testing kit. He agreed to take part, received the kit and tested positive for antibodies (which was what he was expecting). He says that he thinks they have more than one research study running though so yours may be different.
I don't have a great understanding of statistical analysis but it occurs to me that if only a small number of people can get tests and the number of recorded cases is rising steeply, the actual situation must be an awful lot worse than the available data would indicate.
Glad it was useful - it was not my intention to hog almost a page of posts! But I'd gone too far with it by the time I realised.
Regarding working in labs, a friend of mine has been talking about something she heard on the radio today. Did anyone hear it? (actually, I have a feeling LBC is a London station, so you probably didn't).

When we're all dead or one foot in the grave, what will students of history make of these 'interesting times'? What exam question might they be set? Who will they be asked to compare us to? Ancient Rome occurs to me .

On the other hand it could mean that the situation is not as bad as it was a few months ago!
