    From the BBC New website:

"England's chief medical officer Prof Chris Whitty said earlier that onward transmission and an epidemic in the UK was "likely".

In "the worst case scenario", up to 80% of the UK population could be infected with coronavirus, which causes the disease Covid-19, he said."

There doesn't seem to be much change from the predicted 1% death rate in infected people either. That leaves about half a million people in the UK at risk of death from this virus in the given worst case scenario by my calculations. :/ Not to mention the knock on effect to the already stretched NHS.

Well it is a stupid idea. I imagine most people retired from the NHS either left for health reasons which would put them in the vulnerable group or left because the conditions they were working in were untenable, and it's likely to be a lot worse than 'normal' if they are being called in.

    Why would you, really?

A better plan would be to conscript private healthcare workers and facilities into the NHS. I'm sure all MPs have private healthcare though...

I have already been asked to return in a role helping to allocate critical care beds, when the inevitable shortage occurs.
If it were not for my own illness, I would gladly return.
I would not do so to my old hospital, too many unhappy memories.

"A better plan would be to conscript private healthcare workers"

You mean like all the nurses, orderlies, porters and cleaners from the EU and beyond? The people who have been terrified of being kicked out of the country for the last three years?

Nowhere does this document state that there is no increased risk to individuals.
try telling the families of the 3000 people who have died so far, that there is no increased risk.
Clearly you do not have any idea what you are talking about and my concern is that other people may be influenced by what you say.

You are lying, and I don’t know why.  Please stop it, and stop trying to spread fear.

I’ve quoted them for you, you have read it.

I have linked it for you, you have read it.

If you have a problem with what the Chief Medical Officers have said, please take it up with them.  I won’t discuss this with you anymore.

Until the 17th. century all published work believed the earth was flat.
    More recent evidence suggests otherwise.
    There are still doubters.
