I think the seriousness of the situation is sinking in fast over here, except for a few idiots. Apparently hundreds of people have now volunteered to help in the NHS which is good news.  Updated, it's now over 400,000 volunteers, crikey, not sure if I'd want to be one.

Blimey, pf - I'm amazed you made it to adulthood. I think the most downbeat poem I could summon would be
There was an old lady from Ryde
Who ate some green apples and died
    The apples fermented
    Inside the lamented
    Made cider inside 'er inside

And then there was an old lady who swallowed a fly
    In London. Keen but lazy.

Or the peanut that sat on the railway track. Come to think of it, that one is pretty tragic

Well that's it for us. Someone in Kelowna "returned home from Manila and 'wasn't told to self quarantine for 14 days'" hence they did their shopping and went home to their building complex. Now reportedly in the hospital in a medically induced coma. A drop in the bucket. That's just the one they know about.

I went into town this morning for supplies. Not been out for 10 days!
The pharmacy were only letting in one customer at a time and the queue outside was distanced at the regulation 2 metres.Very orderly but had to wait half an hour before my turn.
    Then to Morrisons for shopping.
Very organised with a proper queuing system in the car park with security guards only letting customers in gradually. The checkouts and keypads were sprayed after each customer.
The trolleys handles are cleaned after every customer. The only person who came close was my son (who lives with me) who works there as a trolley collector and now considered a key worker! Could see him busy with the spray bottle and cloth and he wore gloves.
Customers inside tried to keep their distance but a bit tricky at times but everyone good natured and the till queue well managed.
Got all the supplies I needed, except powdered milk, though some shelves were a bit sparse.
I walk there and back so about 2 miles in all.Normally I would have a rest and a coffee but had to come straight home so was pretty knackered from the standing around!
My Dad is 90 today and is in lockdown in France but I was able to Skype so that was good.
Also noticed that a lot of people now smile more when they get out of your way!
So all not too bad here right now  :)

I've got an Iceland shop coming in the next half hour and they actually had everything I ordered except cat food!

Even more impressive is that I booked it at 1pm yesterday for 6PM today!

I went to M&S foodhall at 10 this morning. Practically deserted. It was the only place open on a large retail park. Mansfield Morrisons letting one in at a time. My cousin, who is shopping for her household and my aunty Mo (79) had to queue  for an hour to get in.
I loaded Mums freezer up , and a few treats. When I opened the fridge it was like Mother Hubbards cupboard, but she was still claiming she was fine, not to fuss.
