@FlyDragon Thank you for that - I stand corrected!
Thanks for taking it as it was intended. I certainly don't wish to upset or criticise anybody but I do want people to have the information they need to stay safe!
I really wish our government would release some sort of public information film or something about PPE for the public, what's useful, what isn't, why, and how to use it correctly. You can't just expect people to know this stuff when they've never had to deal with it before!
I'm a nurse working in education in the NHS and even some of the health professionals I've trained over the years have had misconceptions and misunderstandings about gloves and other PPE.
I am rubbish with metric measurements, its why I ordered lots of quite expsneive plants in 9cm pots thinking they were massive, (I ve figured that one out now, and go for 2 or 3 ltr) a couple of years back |I wanted the fine netting against the cabbage whites, and ordered 12 mt instead of 12 feet. So, anyone want any fine black netting!!
Hundreds of vehicles parked along the rural lanes at Dovedale. It's easy to get mad at the silly people in their cars, but this is a very easily foreseeable consequence of the government's changes to the lockdown rules.
Nanny Beach - I feel your pain! OH was, before he retired, a Trading Standards Officer (previously known as Weights and Measures). Oh, how he laughed when I found it hard to work things out in metric, because the system was "so simple". How I laughed when, to complete a small plumbing job, he ordered 30metres of copper piping instead of 30ft. The extra piping was quite useful on occasions for plant supports, though! And I still find metric difficult to work out - imperial measurements are much more user friendly for the likes of me.
I can do metric but it's not instinctive. I know what 6oz of flour or 2oz of butter looks like (and what 1 stone extra feels like ) but I need the scales for metric.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
When I make most cakes Hubby says," arent you going to weigh that", but after 60 years, yes,its pretty instinctive. Talking of medication Dove, went to local pharmacy last week, notice on door saying, go home and contact us on your mobile phone app for repeat prescriptions. Dont have one, so went in and asked ,told you can ring, went home and did so, stating (obviously) my name, adress, 3 items required. Was confirmed it would take a couple of days to go through (electronically) from GP, yesterday, went in there, gave name and address, now every single time I have been in there up till then, they hold the stuff, ask you to confirm your address, they handed me the bag, I knew X wasnt in the bag because of its size, quried, was told these were the items requested. Opened the bag, to look at the prescription (to prove them wrong!) it wasnt my ********* prescription OR my address, told them, they didnt apologise, went through the saga again, to be told they havent got/done mine. Said I only had 2 tablets left now. Said I would contact GP, they agreed that was a good idea. Got home tried for an hour to ring, kept being told there was no such number, tried online, did the whole thing, you know pick a password, etc, etc, said to say to one or two words what the problem was, that was impossible, so drove to surgery, sign on the door, they have suspended the online stuff. Wrote letter and put through door. I was so angry. Dont know what I do after tomorrow when I run out.

COVID 19. What’s that!, Just popped down to the vet to collect some pills for cat, everyone out, garages with shops attached open, loads of cars on the road, I thought I’d leave it until 4pm in the hopes there’d be no one around, ‘We can go out, but not out out’ doesn’t apply anymore. And not a mask in sight.
