My brother (69 today) and his wife, both high risk, have just told me
they are limiting outside contact as much as possible and having food delivered. I suppose if you went stir crazy couped up inside, you could go out for a drive round?

  • I didn’t know that a mask wouldn’t protect me, thanks for that punkdoc, I’m sure I will be able to find a garden centre to browse and then when there is a lull, dive in and Purchase. Valerie
  • But on the other hand. If everyone wore a mask, the spread of the virus would slowed down considerably.

It occurs to my cynical mind to wonder how the MMR vaccine deniers are processing the current situation now that their own, rather than their children's health is at risk. If a vaccine was developed, would they wait for herd immunity?

I’m wondering if you end up touching your face a lot more than usual because you are constantly adjusting your mask?

I didn’t have my children vaccinated and I would not have a vaccine myself. I was offered one for swine flu and didn’t take it, I wouldn’t take one for this either. Each to their own

Wearing a mask risks contamination when removing (same as gloves) and almost certainly if you adjust it. Surgical masks are not protective - they have to be special filtered ones. There is a complex procedure for wearing Personal Protective Equipment and how to remove it all safely in the NHS.

Not having the MMR vaccine is playing Russian roulette with your own and possibly the lives of others children lives.

There will always be people who fear vaccines, even if made compulsory they will fake documentation to avoid it.  The best we can do is continue to educate and make aware, and use peer pressure on those who insist on putting the rest of the population in danger for no benefit whatsoever to themselves.
