For goodness sake. If I got covid,  the last thing I would be thinking about is suing someone, given the nature of the virus. I would be intent on trying to stay alive, first  and foremost. If I was  lucky enough to survive, I would  be thanking The Lord. End of.  Talk about “ Sue City.”
If I caught it by accident, of course, c'est la vie .............. if I caught it because someone had infected me because they'd not followed instructions to self-isolate I'd be bdooly furious!!!
How would you ever know? Deliberate or not, I think I’d still be thankful to come out the other side, alive and well. I doubt I’d have the energy to feel bl***y furious.
That's the whole point of the new scheme to trace contacts and isolate ... I just don't get why some people can't understand it ... it's very clear.

I have a question.......if you have no symptoms, yet you have the virus and can pass it to others unknowingly, how long can the virus stay with you without showing symptoms?  How long are you the contagion?

Its anonymous though, the contact tracers won't tell you who it is that you've been in contact with who has symptoms.

I've no idea how they think people are going to be able to tell them who they've been in contact with on public transport.

@Lyn no I get no sick pay and as my fiancé is unable to get help from the government and is now working for about 30% of his usual pay I cannot afford to lose my wages. If I am ill I will self isolate but otherwise I need to work.

It’s not as easy as they say to get money, my sons off for 3 months on just 96.00 a week.
my other half plans to retire in September so can’t claim self employed benefit.

The government do need to put something in place to financially support people who can't afford to lose two week's pay, because its very obvious that this will stop people from following the essential guidance and will result in a fair number of infections.

My son is going back to work on Monday, he’s had his letter but can’t afford to stay off any longer just  on normal sick pay.
Boss says he’s needed, he’s not happy about it, in fact being extremely vulnerable, he’s out right scared.

To be fair I can get statutory sick pay but it’s not enough at the moment. Also I work in a very busy pharmacy and if people are off sick staff and patients will suffer, that’s acceptable if people are unwell or infectious but will we be tested before being asked to self isolate? I think we need more information and it worries me that we have people in charge that I personally don’t trust to tell us the truth or manage the situation.

@Lyn that must be such a worry for you, doesn’t matter how old they are us moms worry about our children don’t we? My middle son is on furlough but works in a bar so probably won’t have a job at all soon. My middle daughter runs her own business helping school children and may lose everything. The financial implications of this virus will be terrible for so many. And the personal tragedies of people I know caused by the lockdown don’t bear thinking about.
  • I think the only reason we dont have more deaths and there is a decline is sheer dumb luck.judging by the amount of people who have been doing pretty much what they want since the advice of stay at home save the NHS etc changed to stay alert.my mum had her friend in her back garden today.both 85 and theres my dad with dementia wandering around.having said that on monday will that be ok?
