Still wet out there on this supposedly dry day with sunny spells. Wall to wall grey and drismal.  However, a successful expedition to Lucs-de-Boulogne with 3 pals from mosaic class.  An elderly gent - tiler by trade and mosaic by passion - and his wife are downsizing to move into La Roche and be nearer shops, clinics, family and have loads of mosaic tiles to give away to a good home. Â
Whilst there, Marie-Claude who is a fellow gardener admired a rose which is in almost full flower already - rich deep pink and small flowers - and looking very healthy. We have come away with cuttings and shown the lady of the house how to do them because it's a rose her own mum grew from a cutting decades ago so she'd like to take some with her.
Now to have a sort of tiles and get them into stronger containers ready for next Monday's class.  Good day despite the weather.
They are lovely and she may even join us at mosaic classes next year.  He does all his Italian/Roman style with no grouting and very precisely cut pieces which he gets using a marteline which he demonstrated.  I find it a boggling skill - https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=329000241050751Â
