Re the broad beans, I kept reading, you must pinch them out otherwise to will loose them to a black fly infestation, have already found a few, hosed them off.No pods as yet, they went in late because of the wet weather.  Reasons to be cheerful, we are still here, and healthy, thanks!!!

My bees are back on my deutzia!
    Huzzah!
They were all buzzing with a Durham accent though, so I think they'd all been concerned about their kids and had a quick jolly up t'north.
    Glad they're back.

Does disinfectant kill deutzias though....? Mine isn't looking that good after I sprayed it with a bleach/Jeyes/disinfectant mix (just to be on the safe side)

I heard a " very clever man " saying disinfectant should get "inside"

...b***er - should I have injected my concoction? Told you I wasn't a gardener. But you live and learn eh? Having said that, I did try the concoction before I used it - lacked a bit of body and seasoning - so I added a soupçonof salt.

Kids - and Cummings - (and now Gove) - DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME - check gov advice first.

You could add tonic water. That has quinine in it, mix it with bleach. Bobsyeruncle! Home made chloroquine substitute😀

Just checked out the morning glories I planted out yesterday. They've grown a foot at least over night!
I can't remember. Do they flower when the sun hits them or is it daylight that triggers it?

Continuing with my reclamation of the end of my garden, I may have discovered a rich coal seam. Will I be self-sufficient in fuel?  Are there any miners left? Do I need planning permission for a slag heap?
Of course, it might just be where previous owners tipped their ashes. ( that sounds creepy😕)

In our house deeds it says that if we discover coal, oil, gold or anything similar under the soil in out garden it belongs to the Duke of Rutland. I haven’t told him about the copper washing pot I dug up and have now planted with petunias.

Our house deeds forbid the commercial extraction of sand and gravel.

RTBC today: My new neighbour decided they didn't like the covered area in front of the massive summer house the previous owners built and have had a man in to remove it. As a result my greenhouse and veg beds have regained several hours of sunlight B)  Both our gardens look so much better for having it gone.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
