This is my "stolen" tangutica, I took cuttings from the neighbours plant 18 months ago. The new owners think they have killed the original one so it maybe I have to take cuttings again and send it back.
I'm happy and very relieved today that the celebrations I arranged for my daughter's 50th went very well and the whole street was out dancing (well apart and mostly elderly) - a very sociable community get-together which hopefully cheered everyone up. The musicians (guitar, clarinet plus singer - well spaced out!) also enjoyed playing. Just wish so much that we could have been there.
In France and Belgium people are posting photos of wildlife such as deer lolopping about residential and urban streets or frolicking on empty beaches. Lovely to see.
Some wag in Scotland has posted this so I'm passing it on for @Fairygirl and all other posters in or from Scotland.

This morning I found two blocks of compressed coir compost lurking in the back of the shed. Goodness knows how long it's been there (I don't remember buying it, possibly my old neighbour gave it to me). It's currently soaking in a big container of water and it's destined to be mixed with homemade compost for some containers.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
Mr & Mrs Blackbird have been very busy all morning hoovering up the seed I put out and shooing the baby starlings away. Very entertaining and a sign there may be baby blackbirds nearby?

We’ve not levelled the spot or put the pavers down yet so it’s a bit on the huh, but you get the gist ...
