This is Montana Elizabeth on the 3m square pergola, in 4 years it has covered the whole of the "roof" of the pergola and even when the flowers have finished provides a shady place to sit. (not that I can sit for long without spotting a weed that needs to be pulled).
This is absolutely gorgeous and what i hope to achieve over the pergola by my front door.
I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Beautiful evening light tonight. The plants are glowing.

Hi @pitter-patter Would that fern be an Athyrium niponicum ‘Metallicum’?

I’ll take a wild stab at Ursula’s Red not Metallicum judging by the plant label!

It’s Ursula’s Red, sorry about the label, it’s for when everything disappears below the ground. It should be completely covered soon.

Thanks for your reply, @BenCotto & @pitter-patter . Those Athyrium niponicum var. Pictum ferns are so lovely! I have Athyrium niponicum 'Metallicum' and Athyrium niponicum var. pictum Red Beauty currently on my fern-wall. They're just coming out after total disappearing in the winter season.
